| Personal Injury Claims * |
| |
|
| |
| | Many accidents can be avoided by taking care but when they do happen, they are always unexpected and indiscriminate. You may be the victim of an accident or you may cause one through no fault of your own. | | | | Under the law people are entitled to be compensated for injury, loss of earnings, damage to their property and any other loss that they may suffer as a result of an accident. | | | | At Doyle & Company, we specialise in accident litigation and have a lengthy record of successful claims on behalf of people involved in accidents on the road, at work and in public places. |

|
| |
With the establishment of the Personal Injuries Assessment Board, there has been a marked change in the way in which claims for personal injuries are to be made.
With effect from summer 2004 all claims for personal injuries where liability is not in issue must first be pursued through the Personal Injuries Assessment Board.
The establishment of the board does not take away your right to have your claim determined by a Judge, however you must first bring your claim to the Board and only after having done so, can you then pursue the matter through the courts if you are dissatisfied with the decision of the Board.
Where the defendant disputes liability, we will proceed on your behalf through the Court system to achieve the best possible outcome for you.
Should you wish to avail of our advice and expertise in the field of personal injuries, we shall be more than happy to assist you and to correspond with the Personal Injuries Assessment Board on your behalf where appropriate. |

| Road Traffic Accidents - Advice for Drivers |
| |
| We would give the following advice on what to do in the event of a vehicle accident: |
| | | | All drivers involved in accidents resulting in personal injury or damage to a vehicle must stop their vehicle at the scene of the accident. |
| | | | Call a doctor or ambulance whenever personal injury is involved, but don't try to move the victim, good intentions on your part could result in their suffering further injury. |
| | | | If the accident involved death or personal injury you must notify the Gardai. Even when there are no personal injuries, it is wise to call the Gardai as their official report may help you later. |
| | |
|
|
 | Don't comment on the accident or sign anything, even if you think you might be in the wrong. It could be the other driver's fault, or you might be equally responsible. |
|
 | Make notes of the other parties names, addresses, registration numbers and insurance details and give them your own. Write down the names and addresses of any witnesses and the general circumstances of the accident, as people's recollections can become hazy later. |
|
 | Remain at the scene until the Gardai arrive. Give your personal details to the Gardai but remember that you do not have to give a statement until you have seen your solicitor. |
|
 | See your doctor for a check-up as soon as possible after the accident, even if you think there is nothing wrong with you. |
|
 | See your solicitor, who will help you prepare a statement for the Gardai and complete the accident report form for your insurance company |
|
| |
At Doyle & Company we will also help to quantify your claim and will arrange for a motor assessor's and doctor's report. We can assist you in verifying the identity of the other driver.
Doyle & Company have successfully pursued thousands of cases for accidents at work and public liability claims. |
